As a former Royal Navy Submariner turned tech entrepreneur, I traded navigating the depths of the ocean for diving into the digital deep end – though I still occasionally miss having a periscope for market research.
After founding a successful web design business in 2008 and launching Review Cards in 2017 (which has now distributed over 5 million QR-enabled business cards worldwide), I’ve surfaced in the PropTech sector with Scan A Sign, helping estate agents revolutionise their property marketing through redirectable QR codes.
When I’m not busy transforming simple signs into powerful marketing tools, I’m enthusiastically showing estate agents how QR (which I maintain stands for ‘Quite Revolutionary’) is changing the game in winning instructions and accelerating sales.
Between coding sessions and tech innovations, I’m either being dragged around by my enthusiastic dogs – who seem to think ‘fetch’ is a lifestyle rather than a game – or diving deep into the latest tech trends; though I must admit, trying to teach my dogs to scan QR codes has proven significantly harder than teaching estate agents.
With a background in the print industry, Simon has been in sales for over 25 years. In 2012 the transition to online was made when Simon set up a web design business with partner and Scan A Sign founder, Mark Hickman.
At this time, QR Codes were in their infancy and gradually being used by selected industries, something which was developed further with the launch of QR Print Tech and Review cards. Both companies have QR Codes at their heart whether for asset tracking or review collection.
Simon has worked closely with consultants for companies including for Transport London, Screwfix and the Amex football stadium to integrate QR Codes into their asset management. Review cards continues to grow and has an extensive portfolio of customers in the United States and the UK
The first point of contact at Scan A Sign, Simon will engage with clients, offer advice and guidance and provide the answers to any questions you may have.
Away from the office, Simon enjoys cycling, photography and football coaching. This includes running a Girls team, mentoring new volunteer coaches and being a committee member for a large youth football club.
As the Chief Treat Controller, Axel takes his duties seriously. No treat is safe from his intense inspections, and he’s notorious for surprise audits of any snacks left unattended.
His treat evaluation process is simple: if it’s chewable and completely disappears after a vigorous taste test, it’s a clear winner.
Lunchtime is his favorite time of day, announced by excited barks and what the team lovingly refers to as “The Axel Tornado”—a whirlwind of paws, tail wags, and occasionally airborne office supplies.
Though his approach may be wild, Axel’s infectious joy and uncontainable spirit make him an indispensable part of the team.
As the Chief Treat Controller, Axel guarantees that the office is always full of excitement and, of course, an endless supply of treats!

Ruby is our is a 1 year old rescue English Bull Terrier, known as the office bin raider. She is often caught sleeping on the job, but whilst awake, it is great for team morale, though it can also be quite distracting…

Bo is the Chief Bone Officer, our distinguished 12-year-old American Bulldog rescue and the seasoned office manager who keeps everyone in line.
With years of experience under his collar, he ensures the team stays on track—unless it’s nap time, which is non-negotiable. Known for his stern “pawlicies” and timely snack inspections, Bo is the cornerstone of our daily operations.
His favorite hobbies include supervising from his comfy sofa, offering gruff but loving mentorship to the younger pups, and reminding us that age is just a number (especially when there’s a squeaky toy involved).
With Bo at the helm, the office runs smoother than a freshly filled water bowl!
As Chief Office Overlord, Tank is our 15-year-old bull terrier rescue, and in true Bully tradition is the true office manager, keeping everyone in line with his calm, watchful style.
Though he’s long retired from the days of chasing tennis balls, his authority is unquestioned. His favorite pastime is supervising from his favorite spot in the sun, often taking “strategic naps.”
Tank’s wisdom and steady presence bring balance to the office, and his no-nonsense approach ensures everything runs smoothly—unless it’s time for a well-deserved belly rub. A true veteran in the art of delegation!

A diva in every sense of the word, Misty Moo takes her role as Head of Social Media Marketing seriously, ensuring that her selfies are always on point and her appearance is flawless.
She’s never one to miss a grooming appointment (self-scheduled, of course) and has a collection of collars that could rival any fashionista’s wardrobe.
